“unflinchingly contemporary” – William Dart, New Zealand Herald

175 East, one of New Zealand’s foremost contemporary music ensembles, presents concerts of exploratory, experimental music. Since its formation in 1996, the ensemble has performed over 230 pieces, including numerous world and New Zealand premieres, and over 50 pieces have been specifically written for it.

This concert, conducted by Hamish McKeich, will feature the world premieres of work by Dorothy Ker (NZ/UK) and James Saunders (UK), alongside extraordinary pieces from 175 East’s back catalogue by Ker, Saunders and Philip Brownlee (NZ) and it promises to be a fascinating, challenging, unique aural experience.
