Kristin Hersh (founder of seminal post-punk outfit Throwing Muses) has accrued a sonic catalogue of startling breadth over her impressive 20+ year career which started when she was 14. Her songs didn’t just come out of thin air; they were formed by a combustible combination of a unique worldview catalysed into being by unforeseen life circumstances.

Much of this process is documented in Hersh’s acclaimed memoir, Paradoxical Undressing, which tells the story of a year in her life when she was a very unusual teenage girl, experiencing a diagnosis of schizophrenia, a fascinating friendship with a fading movie star, a pregnancy and a major record deal, told in quirky, harrowing and often hilarious prose capturing the singular voice of a bright and resilient woman.

An Evening with Kristin Hersh is a warm, intimate and hugely entertaining show of powerful and innovative music.

“Hersh is a fearless rock innovator.”  [The New York Times]
“Powerful, yet gently mesmerizing.”  [The Independent, UK] (4/4 Stars)
