Show Me Where It Hurts is the hip-shakin’ new duo featuring Josh Hetherington on vocals and a Fender Rhodes electric piano, and Ronny Haynes on drums and vocals.

Stepping out in all their finery – finest of threads, finest of tunes – Show Me Where It Hurts peddle a sweet and savoury smorgasbord of swingin’ sass and soul, and fingerpoppin’ rock-a-rolla! With a hands-on-hips line on the groove, these guys will make you wanna move!

“You guys were smokin’, man. Smokin’!” (Bobby Womack, 2013)

What is Q Mixtape?

Located in the beating hub of the arts precinct, Q brings you a mixtape of free live gigs in our Lounge bar with a generous helping of cult musicians and DJ’s to enjoy every Saturday night.

“The spirit of Mixtape is really one of eclecticism. This is a city where you can hear adventurous jazz, literate songwriting, ultra-rare reggae 45‘s, and off-the-wall mutant surf versions of klezmer music. Real music fans are open-minded and cosmopolitan - and Mixtape is a space for them.” (Tom Rodwell, Mixtape curator and calypso-blues guitarist)

Gather your mates, order a drink and enjoy Q’s mixtape of intimate and rare performances by some of NZ’s most exciting contemporary musicians and songwriters. From fresh renditions of beloved vintage classics, sweet indie-folk to soulful jazz and acoustic pop, you’re in for something refreshing and unique every time.

If you're after a late night meal, browse through our in-house restaurant menu Citizen Q and book a table with reservations@qtheatre.co.nz or call 09 282 4402.
