COVID-19 Protection Framework at Q - Policy

In keeping with our health and safety mandate to provide a primary duty of care to our staff and all others who enter our venue we are committed to the following policy.

BACKGROUND

In response to the updates to the Government’s COVID-19 Protection Framework and the disestablishment of Vaccine Mandates, Q Theatre will no longer require anyone who enters the building to present a valid My Vaccine Pass from the Ministry of Health*. Additionally, we will no longer require staff working on-site to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

We believe we are still able to maintain a tolerable health and safety risk, while under any level of the Government’s COVID-19 Protection Framework by utilising other precautions such as mask-wearing, increased cleaning, monitoring airflow and ventilation and distancing.

These measures will allow us to limit the potential exposure and transmission of COVID-19 to our staff, hirers, audience, contractors, and other members of the public that use our building. This Policy replaces the previous policy dated November 2021 which required a valid My Vaccine Pass.

POLICY STATEMENT

In keeping with our health and safety mandate to provide a primary duty of care to our staff and all others who enter our venue are we are committed:

  • to protecting our employees, contractors, hirers and audiences from the harmful effects of COVID-19; and
  • to playing our part in minimising the risk of COVID-19 transmission within our workplace and the wider community.

The Ministry of Health has disestablished the mandates for vaccination to be required by public-facing business. Consequently, we intend to minimise the risk of COVID-19 transmission within our venue by:

  1. Complying with all applicable current public health advice in relation to audience attendance at venues where live performances are able to take place and food and beverage is supplied.
  2. Monitoring and updating our practices at each level of the COVID-19 Protection Framework, based on Government advice.

CHANGES TO THE POLICY

Senior Leadership will regularly review this Policy to reflect the changing nature of the COVID-19 virus and public health requirements and guidelines (including in relation to any subsequent outbreaks or aggressive variants). Consequently, we may vary, amend, or terminate this Policy at any time, following consultation with our management team, to reflect changes to public health requirements and guidelines and evolving market practice.
