NZTrio 2018 Loft Series

Start & End Dates:
Jun 24 2018 - Nov 13 2018

NZTrio Loft Series 2018

Deep connections are woven through each concert and across the series. Familial, romantic, and collegial relationships are revealed among the Mendelssohns, the Schumanns, and Brahms. Stylistic nuances across the decades appear among Kiwi composers – Buchanan, Kelly, and Oram, and Aussies Greenbaum, Kats-Chernin, and Hindson – allowing for comparisons of styles from either side of the Tasman.

The concerts open with a sense of strength and fragility referenced by Clement and Glass.  There’s a celebration of New Zealand’s suffragettes in the central concert of all female composers.

Each concert presents a fresh dynamic, with an impressive line-up of talented Kiwi guest musos – Natalie Lin, Benjamin Baker, and Amalia Hall (violin) and Stephen De Pledge and Somi Kim (piano) – arriving from all corners of the globe to join Ashley Brown (cello) in exhilarating NZTrio combinations every time.
