Robin Kelly’s Stimmung Choir exists for three reasons: love of singing, love of the community, love of dank 90s rock. A non-auditioned, community choir from Mt Albert, Stimmung takes to the Q Theatre stage for the fourth time, bringing their most epic concert to date. As always tackling a full album of classic rock, Stimmung has previously blown audiences away with renditions of Radiohead’s ‘Hail to the Thief’ and Queens of the Stone Age’s ‘Songs for the Deaf’, plus a special concert of original music by director Robin Kelly. This time around it's disc one of the epic double album 'Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness' by the legendary Smashing Pumpkins.

Tongue firmly in cheek, and heart blatantly on sleeve, Stimmung takes a bunch of everyday community singers, a score of the best musicians Auckland has to offer, and a special mix of exceptional guest artists, and mixes them together to present an over-the-top, joyous tribute to your favourite rock albums.

Previous Stimmung concerts have included such incredible talent as Ria Hall, Laughton Kora, Paul McLaney, and Troy Kingi. Always stepping up, always pushing the boundaries, ‘Mellon Collie’ promises to deliver special treats, nostalgia hits, and more choral singing than you know what to do with.

“A spiritual experience” - Troy Kingi

“F***ing mental" - Laughton Kora
