K’rd Strip is back at Q before heading to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. We catch up with live drag performer Adam Burrell for a little Q&A in the lead up to opening night...

1. K’Rd Strip - A Place to Stand has garnered a great response in its 2013 season at Q. Is there a particular piece of audience feedback or comment that has stood out to you the most?

The comment that has stood out to me the most is how varied and brave our show is, the fact that all of the performers get a chance to shine!, and take the audience on an emotional and visual rollercoaster ride.

2. How has the show developed since its first appearance at Q?

The show has changed and developed immensely! It's now much more of real reflection of life on K Rd, an amazing glimpse of the characters and the struggles and revelations that they encounter.

3. Is there anywhere else in the world that you’ve visited that reminds you of K’Rd?

I lived in Sydney for 3 years and Oxford St reminded me a lot of K Rd, it's colourful, fierce and individual and a place where everyone can be who they are without worry. It has a similar attraction to misfits of the world, although K Rd to me still has a special pull, probably cause I've been going there since the age of 16.

4. What tips do you have for heel-lovers out there wanting to get through a big night of dancing in killer heels?

My first tip would be to lock your legs in position straight up, channel your inner super model, work it and own it!
Secondly and most importantly don't get toooo pissed. Lol.

5. What's your perfect night out on K’Rd?

It starts with a great meal and fabulous entertainment at Caluzzi Bar and Cabaret, then a wee stumble up to Eagle Bar for a beer with the boys, or maybe a couple, then a full on flat out entrance into Family Bar and dancing the night away with all the Sisters!
