Be Here Now - The Andy Whitfield StoryThis red carpet event kicks off the whole festival with Be Here Now - The Andy Whitfield Story 

An incredible documentary about the love story between television superstar Andy Whitfield of Spartacus fame and his wife Vashti Whitfield. Together they vow to go on a quest to heal Andy from cancer - embracing life, rather than fear.

Academy Award nominated film directer Lilibet Foster, and Vashti Whitfield will be special guests at the opening night, and each opening night ticket includes at drink from the bar at Q.

NZ photographer Marti Friedlander (her work is featured above) was awarded the Doc Edge Superhero Award for her dedication and skill in documenting Aotearoa through still images.

Friedlander's exhibition: Marti Friedlander: Who are You will be on at Q and open to the public during the Festival.
