HighJinx Aerial Arts Youth Company presents Second Thoughts, an activation running throughout Tempo Dance Festival where the young creators and performers of HighJinx respond to shows in the festival through a series of installation performances.

Using their unique blend of circus arts, dance, physical storytelling, and theatre, these young artists will respond to and reimagine performance art through a young persons’ viewpoint and creativity.

Second Thoughts will combine elements of film and live projection directed, produced, and created by company members in collaboration with emerging dance filmmaker Keren Feltham. The resulting live performance will integrate layers of questioning, imagery, and physicality.

HighJinx has established themselves as a uniquely authentic youth company with a history of creating full-length, short-form and installation pieces in which young people bravely and boldly present themselves as relevant, thoughtful and talented young artists. The company is led by artistic directors Carlene Newall de Jesus and Eve Gordon (The Dust Palace) who together bring a wealth of experience in creating professional dance, theatre and circus work.
