Kete presents a collection of short contemporary dance works showcasing the creative taonga of Tāmaki Makaurau-based choreographers. Each dance artist offers their unique choreographic voice, physical imaginings and movement explorations into the kete.

Moving, soothing and grooving, the works presented to celebrate the diverse and distinct worlds of the contributing choreographers, offering into the space the stories, moments and voices of Tāmaki Makaurau’s emergent dance creatives. The works weave together movement languages to explore personal and cultural histories, share unique realities and dreamings, and create a kinetic kaleidoscope of bodily possibilities. Featuring works by Miriam Eskildsen, Ankaramy Fepulea’i, Mary Piggin and Jawline Dance Co

A woven collection
Breath and reflection
Holding, reaching, sharing.

Arms gather, hands hold
The body reveals what can’t be told
Held carefully in the kete.
