Our Lounge is a modern, welcoming, vibey spot, holding things down as the central hub amongst each of our theatre spaces. Lounge is the home to Exhibit Q, our rotating display of art and imagery, as well as Citizen Q, our bar and restaurant, where many a post-show debrief is had over a bowl of hot chippies.
Not only that, but Lounge also plays host to several fantastic events, hostings, activations and more. We’ve recently had quite a slew of vibrant activity coming through, so we thought it was a fabulous time to share some of our highlights!
We were proud to welcome Women in Events New Zealand for a behind-the-scenes tour of our venue, followed by an evening of networking and nibbles. It was inspiring to see a group of talented wāhine from across the industry come together, share knowledge, and build connections. Ngā mihi to Donna Buchanan, who makes Women in Events NZ happen!
We also recently hosted the Movember Awards 2025, complete with a red carpet arrival, moustache-themed decor, and even an ice-cream cart treating guests to a little sweet treat. Plus, Mango Communications delivered an exciting event to launch a new Samsung product, transforming Lounge into a tropical escape decked out with beach cabanas, colourful deck chairs, and Island vibes. Events like these truly showcase how versatile and immersive Lounge can be.
We also continue to enjoy working with Auckland Philharmonia to host their ongoing event series, Phil after 5. This unique event brings an intimate, after-hours concert experience to Lounge, inviting audiences to unwind with a glass of wine, soak up performances, and connect with the musicians in an informal, relaxed way.
And amongst all the event excitement, we've also put on some pretty darn tasty catering - if we do say so ourselves! Our talented Kitchen and Visitor Experience teams have made classy canapes, morning teas and more happen over the last few weeks.
We love seeing how different organisations, events and communities bring our special Lounge space to life, whether through total transformations or by simply creating opportunities to come together.
