Q’s main entrance leads you straight from Queen Street into Citizen Q - a fantastic starting point for a night out in the city centre.

A modern and relaxed environment perfect during the day for a team lunch, afternoon drinks or an informal presentation. The space transforms at night into a great setting for a corporate, social or private party.

Our building fuses heritage with a contemporary design - it's home to an energy and spirit that is unleashed by all who come through our doors at 305 Queen Street.

Original 1920s cornices are set-off by rich magenta walls and polished wooden floorboards. The casual leather furnishings provide ample backdrop for socialising and memorable networking occasions. It's a great location for office parties, networking events and more formal occasions such as a PR launch.

The nitty-gritty

Here are some of the details you may like to know before getting in contact. We have:

  • Full bar service available
  • Food catering available
  • No hiring fee (minimum bar spend may apply)
  • Exclusive hire is subject to availability
  • A dedicated bar with a killer team to pop the bottles and pour the pints
  • Enough private space to swing a briefcase - and we can adapt the lounge space to comfortably fit small or large groups
  • Technical support available if:
    • You needed AV, Microphones or presentation equipment
    • You want to set up a DJ booth
    • You think your party needs Karaoke to really come together
  • Public Transport right on our doorstep in case the accounting team celebrates a bit too much

Q Lounge Function and Event Bookings Terms and Conditions:
  • A 50% deposit of the minimum bar spend is required to secure your booking. Please note that the date remains open on our books until this payment is received.
  • A credit card must be provided to secure the reservation and will be held on the night/day of booking.
  • Once a booking is confirmed, cancellation of the event will result in loss of minimum bar spend ($1500) plus any incurred costs relating to the event e.g. speciality ordered stock, hireage of equipment
  • Payment must be made in full on the day of hire unless otherwise arranged.
  • Minimum bar spend applies to beverage only. If the minimum bar spend is not met, the difference must be paid by the hirer.
  • Hirer acknowledges that all decisions relating to the sale or supply of alcohol during the event are at Q’s sole discretion. 
  • Hirer will comply and ensure that all Persons under Hirer’s Control comply with all conditions and requirements of Q alcohol and other applicable licences.
  • Q will adhere to the latest New Zealand Government’s COVID-19 Alert System’s rules and restrictions: https://COVID19.govt.nz/
  • Any breakages or damages to the venue will be charged to the hirer.
  • We have preferred catering suppliers for Q. However, we are happy to discuss alternative options.
  • Security may be required to be on site dependent on the nature of the event. If security is needed, the hirer will be required to cover these costs.
  • For evening events, bar service ends no later than 11:30pm with the venue closing by midnight.
