Te Boil Up is a one-night-only live te reo Māori charity event where some of Aotearoa's most recognisable Māori personalities come together to celebrate te reo Māori through laughter, storytelling, and whakawhanaungatanga.
Hosted by Chey Milne and Tiare Tawera, the night features Hon. Shane Jones, Tamati Waaka, Julian Wilcox, Raniera Procter, Ani-Piki Tuari and Hinerapa Rupuha.
Guided by our hosts, each guest will take their turn at the boil, sharing stories, humour and whakaaro in a lively evening of laughs and Māori banter. It's a rare opportunity to see these personalities share one stage for a night of entertainment that celebrates being Māori!
But this night is about more than entertainment.
100% of ticket proceeds will be donated to three Ngā Kōhanga Reo across Aotearoa:
Te Kōhanga Reo o Pā Arapeta – Panguru, Te Hiku o Te Ika
Te Kōhanga Reo o Whatawhata – Te Puku o Te Ika
Te Kōhanga Reo o Whakatipu Wai Māori – Arrowtown, Te Waipounamu
Every ticket helps invest back into the places where our mokopuna are immersed in te reo Māori every single day.
Doors open from 5.30pm, with kai timotimo and a cash bar available before the show. The live show begins at 6.45pm, so arrive early, grab a bite, catch up with friends, and settle in for a night you won't forget.
The event will also be professionally filmed by Arataua Media and broadcast nationally on Whakaata Māori during Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, giving audiences across Aotearoa the chance to experience the magic of the night.
Proudly funded by Te Māngai Pāho.
Come for the laughs. Stay for the kaupapa. Leave knowing your ticket helped strengthen the future of te reo Māori.
From appearing on your TVs (Have You Been Paying Attention, Thank God You're Here), crashing out online (Instagram, TikTok), or chatting up strangers at the local dog park. My (Chris Parker) intent has always been pure and simple. For you to take a good, hard look at ME!
