Life is constantly shifting. Balance is how we find our way.

Ngā Rangatahi Toa returns to Q Theatre with Manawa Ora: Taurite, an original theatre production exploring what it means to find balance in a world that never stands still.

Created by rangatahi during an intensive week-and-a-half creative wānanga, Taurite is devised, rehearsed and staged in just 10 days. Guided by some of Aotearoa's leading artists, rangatahi transform their lived experiences into a bold and compelling theatre work that is raw, honest and deeply moving.

Inspired by the idea that balance is like a seesaw, Taurite embraces life's constant movement. There are highs and lows, moments of certainty and uncertainty, times when we lean on others and times when we find strength within ourselves. Rather than striving for perfection, this original production celebrates the ongoing practice of recalibrating, caring for ourselves, supporting one another, and finding steadiness through change.

Working alongside acclaimed artists including Diggy Dupé, Karlos Saunders Tunks, Matariki Whatarau, Fran Kora, Brooke and Starce O'Neill, Lionel Wellington, Nikau Hindman, and more, rangatahi have created an unforgettable theatrical experience that blends original music, rap, dance, theatre and spoken word into one powerful performance.

More than a show, Manawa Ora: Taurite is a celebration of rangatahi voice, creativity and potential. It invites audiences to reflect on their own journey, reconnect with what keeps them grounded, and discover that balance is not something we achieve once. It is an intentional process we need to practise daily.

Honest. Courageous. Unforgettable. Join us for an evening of theatre that celebrates the strength, creativity and extraordinary potential of Aotearoa's rangatahi.
