The curtains are closing on another chapter at Q Theatre, as we say goodbye to Alice Kenealy, Head of Marketing and Brand Communications | Toihau Whakatairanga me ngā Whakapā Waitohu. Last Friday marked Alice's final bow at Q, after six and a half years of being a dedicated, passionate, much-loved member of the team.
Image: A slew of Q staff and industry whānau came to bid Alice a fond farewell last week! Spot Alice rocking her iconic, on-brand pink blazer!
Across the last few years, Alice has been a hugely important part of the team and has contributed to the business in countless ways. Among so many other things, she supported hundreds of festivals, programmes, and shows to come through Q's doors and helped get those valuable bums on seats. She took on the rebranding of Q, led the Help Q Get Through campaign in 2020 (which kept our doors open during the pandemic), and led countless Mihi Whakatau to welcome people into our spaces and share Q's story and connection to this land. During her time with us, you could always count on Alice to respond in a calm, thoughtful manner in the face of any crisis including cancellations, pandemics, storms and flooding (and that's just in the last year or two!).
Most importantly, she was a treasured member of the Q whānau and extended whānau, always uplifting her team, colleagues, clients and peers through her constant generosity, care and humour.
As Alice embarks on her next adventure, we'd like to extend our gratitude for all that she's done for Q Theatre and its team. Farewell, Alice - we can't wait to cheer on your future endeavors and we will no doubt be seeing you around for a show or two!
