After previously collaborating with us on significant projects aimed at enhancing our visitor experience, we have welcomed Karyn Metcalf permanently to our team this month in the newly created role of Head of Patron Services | Te Pane o ngā Ratonga Kiritaki.
Karyn's impressive professional journey spans over 20 years in the multi-venue, performing arts and events industries. She has held key roles at Auckland Live and the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, where she was involved in all aspects of operational management, visitor experience and safety, venue presentation, staff recruitment and training.
On joining the Q team, Karyn says, "I am thrilled to be joining the Q Theatre whānau, leading the Visitor Experience team to enhance our patrons’ experiences. I have a customer-focused mindset and enjoy setting and maintaining service standards and leading a team to deliver excellence to our customers and audiences."
As Q Theatre's new HoPS, Karyn will be upholding our commitment to excellence in every aspect of patron services. She understands the importance of creating a welcoming and safe environment for all visitors, and is dedicated to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and responsiveness.
This new role sees the continuation of many months reviewing and updating our processes that underpin a vital part of Q’s operations: our patrons experience from the moment they enter the building. We look forward to further improving all aspects of our venue and ensuring that every interaction with Q Theatre exceeds expectations with specialised leadership from Karyn Metcalf at the Patron Services helm.
