See our world anew

agaram. brings together an exciting bunch of award-winning International texts from South Asian writers across the globe to present a unique one night only staged playreading event.

In these volatile times, the theatre can play an invaluable role to help us understand and embrace people from around the globe. When was the last time you saw a new queer play from any place besides the UK or America? be:longing (OE edition) is here to fill the void, by bringing exciting international plays by living authors to Tāmaki, works which give audiences the opportunity to see our world anew Featuring Tamaki Makaurau’s up-and-coming South Asian artists and performers,

be:longing (OE Edition) is part of a 2 day-free festival within the Pride Festival celebrating the contribution of South Asian LGBTQIA+ theatre and performance with an emphasis on new or recent works with a broadly LGBTQIA+ theme or relevance.

Audience warnings: contains references to abuse, suicidal thoughts, violence, sexual references and coarse language.
