“An absolute riot! It was so funny. Far too wonderful.”
- Elaine Paige, BBC Radio 2

A riotous comedy play with a dark twist, never before heard original songs and far too much lycra. From the Edinburgh Fringe to London’s West End, Cat the Play has become a much-loved smash hit across the UK and Europe. Following a sellout UK run the hardest working Lycra in showbusiness arrives in Auckland.

Dave’s dream is to star in an Andrew Lloyd Webber Musical.
Despite his talent he is constantly cut at the last minute, denying the world the opportunity to see Evita’s Llama or his show stopping number as Jesus’s Donkey.
Eventually Andrew writes his greatest show with Dave as his leading man yet a secretive relationship with the beautiful White Cat threatens everything.
When opening night finally arrives, a series of inexplicable events rocks our hero to the core, forcing him onto an unexpected and destructive path, a blow our mysterious performer has never quite recovered from.

“A madcap delight, both surreal and gritty, musical and dramatic, comedic and tragic. Insightful and clever, a uniquely catty show, and one to remain in the Memory.” -Bath Echo

“An amazing piece of theatre! Enthralled and fascinated, entertained and horrified in equal measure... The pace is so intense, you get sucked in as the narrative pounds along; fooled by the entertaining stories, the anecdotes, the gags, the irreverent songs until there’s no escape.”
-Waterford News & Star
