6:30pm Debate
7:45-9pm Festival Party
Our ever popular The Great Debate event is back! Open to all, join us for a quick-fire battle on Auckland’s iconic main thoroughfare, from Queens Wharf on the waterfront through to K Road.
From it’s humble creation in 1840, Queen St had horse drawn buses and survived a fire destroying 54 buildings. By 1900, electrical trams provided services to several significant landmarks Auckland Town Hall, Britomart, Civic Theatre and Aotea Square. What does the Queen Street of our future look like?

Bill Mckay – Lecturer UoA and urban issues commentator at RNZ
Juliana Wilson – Architectural Practitioner and Teaching Fellow
