This April, Footnote New Zealand Dance is flooding the nation's theatres with an international dance collaboration like no other.
The Impossible Has Already Happened brings together two nations’ stories of water amid a global climate crisis. Choreographers Claire O’Neil (NZ) and Jennifer Mascall (Canada) investigate the power and purpose of water. Water sustains, nourishes, disrupts, and dazzles our planet. It draws parallels to our flowing lives, to stagnated situations, and presence of being. With a sense of urgency, this work highlights our precious natural resource and all it can achieve.
Dancers from both Footnote and MascallDance bring this vision to life, along with Marcus McShane, one of NZ’s most prolific designers working on Lighting and Set Design. The team is completed with Jason Wright who is creating an outstanding Sound and AV design.
Footnote New Zealand Dance is Aotearoa’s longest-running contemporary dance company. Their legacy for creating compelling and cutting-edge physical theatre pieces has been toured to great acclaim, both on our shores and abroad.
