Aotearoa's own Imperfect Offering returns to present the music of Leonard Cohen at their favourite performing venue, Rangatira Q Theatre. With a brand new programme titled "Of Love and Loss - Songs of Leonard Cohen", bringing the beauty and profound depth of Leonard Cohen's words and music with stories and themes of love and the ache of loss. The band takes you on a journey from Cohen's first album 'Songs of Leonard Cohen' in 1967 to his album 'You Want it Darker' released just weeks before his death in 2016. A story that spans his Greek Island life with his muse Marianne and New York's artist hang-out Chelsea Hotel and a meeting with Janis Joplin, Imperfect Offering will present his most beloved songs.

Imperfect Offering was formed by Peter McMillan in 2014 from established rock, jazz and classical musicians. They appeared on TVNZ News on the event of Cohen's death in November 2016 and were selected to be represented on the official Leonard Cohen website Cohencentric. They have toured nationally since 2016 attracting great reviews and selling out theatres including selling out Rangatira Q Theatre two weeks before their 2019 show.

Their growing repertoire includes the astonishing Hallelujah, Suzanne, Chelsea Hotel, I Tried to Leave You, Bird on the Wire and songs from Cohen's extraordinary album 'You Want it Darker'.

The programme will also remember the wife of lead singer Peter McMillan, who passed over in February of this year. Brenda was Imperfect Offering's #1 fan who, throughout their six years of performance, attended most of their concerts and whose strength in her illness inspired the band to perform. Brenda and Peter's son singer-songwriter Michael Llewellyn will be performing for the incoming audience, from 6:15pm.  The main programme will start at 7:00pm.
